Celebrating 28 years, New Orleans Wine & Food Experience invites hundreds of people into the Big Easy to celebrate two things we know and love: wine & food. The event attracts over 7,000 gourmands and connoisseurs to experience the best of the best with “all the locals who enjoy excellent food, wine, and a great time!”
NOWFE was scheduled to begin next week from March 18-22. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they have cancelled the 28th edition of the event.
They have released a statement, linked above, explaining that they hope to move into later in the year, a similar move that other large-scale events are following like Coachella Music Festival. They will share that information as it becomes available.
NOWFE also urges those still visiting the city to support the local hospitality industry.
“We urge our local audience to support our restaurants, hotels and vendors affected by this situation, while following guidelines and protocols set forth by public health officials.”
Mayor Cantrell and other city officials cancelled all large events for this weekend including all St. Patrick’s Day parades and Super Sunday in a press conference last night. Today was supposed to be the return of YLC’s Wednesday at the Square, but their return remains questionable.
