Wayfare Unexpectedly Closes Their Doors on Freret Street

Unfortunately, the New Orleans restaurant graveyard has claimed another soul. This time, it’s Wayfare, an all-encompassing spot that started off as a sandwich and salad lunch joint. They expanded from just sandwiches and salads however to include more dinner-oriented items and handcrafted cocktails for a unique wine bar setting along Freret.

In their statement posted on Facebook on Tuesday, October 22, they were forced to close due to “several reasons concerning their lease on Freret Street.” Their location along Freret was in a poppin’ spot amidst other restaurants, stores, and salons.

Hopefully this isn’t the end for Wayfare, and they are able to open up at a different location in the future.
