Cinco de Mayo Mayhem in New Orleans this Sunday

With a combination of both Jazz Fest and Cinco de Mayo this weekend, the amount of options are endless! If you don’t find yourself at the Fairgrounds, then perhaps a delicious margarita and some tacos might do the trick. There’s TONS of happenings around town to fulfill your tequila taste buds.

Check out some of the events occurring this Sunday below!

Nole Restaurant – 1pm to 9pm

From 1pm-9pm, Nole is pulling out all the stops for their first Cinco! Enjoy $5 on the rocks margaritas and cervezas, $10 for frozen margaritas, and $5 tinga tacos.

Lucy’s Retired Surfer Bar & Restaurant – 12pm to 2am

Lucy’s, both a local and tourist favorite, is hosting their second annual Cinco Mania block party event. Stop by for music, beer and taco specials, luchador wrestling at 3pm, giveaways, and more! Upstairs, the restaurant is hosting exclusive All-You-Can-Enjoy margaritas and tacos from 12pm-5:05pm. Purchase tickets for upstairs here. Find out more about the event here!

Velvet Cactus – 11am to 10pm

Velvet Cactus located in Lakeview is celebrating with their annual Cinco de Mayo fiesta! Stop by on Sunday, May 5 beginning at 11am for live music, margaritas, and lots of delicious food! The party lasts until 10pm, with the live music by Cypress Pop Trio starting at 4:30pm. From 6pm to 9pm, Groovy 7 takes the stage to close out the night.

Casa Borrega – 11am to midnight

Casa Borrega is bringing Cinco de Mayo to the streets from 11am to midnight on Sunday, May 5. The funky and eclectic Mexican restaurant will host food and drink specials along with live Latin music from 4-midnight. Mezcal lovers: this place is a must visit!

Carreta’s – 11am to close

It’s an all day fiesta at Carretas in Metairie! Starting at 11am, there will be free giveaways, food and drinks, live music, and more. This event always brings in a bunch of people, so be sure to stop by and partake in the fun.

Arana Taqueria y Cantina – 4pm to 9pm

On Sunday, May 5, visit Arana Taqueria y Cantina for some yummy drinks, food, and tequila tastings! There will be no brunch menu, instead, you can enjoy the restaurant’s regular menu. The outdoor bar will be open from 4pm to 9pm, with live music from 5pm-9pm.

Los Jefes Grill – noon to 11pm

From noon until 11pm, this family-friendly event at Los Jefes Grill is sure to be a ton of fun! With face painting, a taco eating contest, music and more, there is something for everyone. Don’t miss out on FREE tequila shots from 7pm to 8pm!

The Rum House – open to close

From open to close, enjoy $6 margs, $7 fruit twist margs, $3 bud lights + Mexican import beers, plus much more! The Rum House always serves up some delicious beverages and food to accompany. RSVP to the event on Facebook here.ย 

Felipe’s – 6pm to close

The mid-city location of Felipe’s is hosting a fiesta within the confines of the restaurant and the surrounding outdoor courtyard! Beginning at 6pm, stop by to enjoy live music (Fermin Salsa Band ย and Merengue4-Four), margaritas, beer, and of course, tacos!
