El Cucuy Crosses Heavy Metal & Tacos on Tchopitoulas Street Later This Year

Heavy metal and tacos? Sign us up! Later this year, El Cucuy will open their doors, specializing in heavy metal and South American folklore, as well as tacos. The new spot is currently under construction at 3507 Tchopitoulas Street in the Irish Channel.

The menu for El Cucuy will include tacos, elote, quesadillas, and other tasty dishes. According to EATER, the restaurant is in the works by Austin Lane and NOLA-based architecture firm Cicada and NFT Group. The trio are restoring an Airstream as well as constructing a “large, shaded dining deck” and entertainment area.
